I started a blog. July has been busy with the Fourth, vacations, birthdays. And I am ready to get started on the scarves for fall. Yes, it has been one hot summer and nobody wants to think about scarves, or anything else, around their necks. I love the hot weather but it is not good for selling scarves. Still, I have to begin now because these things take time.
No pics yet. I am winding black warp. Tencel. I haven't decided 100% what draft I will use for this series. That will be finalized today.

Visit My New Line in Housewares
Roaster Coasters handwoven coasters, aka mug mats.

And this is a gorgeous red and white cotton/linen kitchen towel that needs to get up on Etsy already!

And I will be taking a couple of them in gift boxes to Swift Waters.
I'm sending a couple of sets out to the stores, so what's left will go up on Etsy. I already sold a few at GGG and the farmers' market. I'm working on more colors.

Two New Enviro-friendly Scarves
My Stripe Hemp Handwoven scarf is now in the shop. It's made of cotton, but mostly handwoven of organic hemp.

This is Loud handwoven with soy silk, a byproduct of the tofu manufacturing industry. It's bright redpinkorange, but very soft. It feel like a cross between silk and a well-worn cotton.

Success is . . .
Dodging rain, thunderstorms, and two days of tornado warnings (I'm in Connecticut, not Kansas, Toto, so two days of tornado warnings is rare, indeed.) and a great turn out for the first annual Galleries, Gardens and Gifts.

Special Effects painted wine glasses. "The women we used to be, wish we were, will never be!"

Facebook | Gardens Gallery and Gifts 2010
This is what I'm working on this weeke and next! If you are in the East Windsor or surrounding areas next weekend, come visit!
Facebook Gardens Gallery and Gifts 2010: "Gardens, Gallery and Gifts is a two day event showcasing Connecticut artists and artisans.
Stroll through beautiful perennial gardens with lushly planted containers to enjoy along paths and entry ways. Enter a cozy art gallery housing oil paintings of flowers, landscapes and vintage vehicles. Stop in to view amazing floral arrangements staged in a contemporary home decorated in rich colors by a home designer. Shop in a rustic barn showcasing artisans’ specialties from painted glass wares, gift baskets, hand-woven wares, stunning jewelry, floral photography, unique one of a kind handbags, painted primitives, pottery and more. Top it all off with a glass of wine during a wine tasting feature held on the outdoor patio.
This two day event will be held on June 5th and 6th from 10 – 3 at 310 & 312 Rye St. in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, CT, 06016. Please follow the signs for parking. There will be an area for handicapped parking.
Admission is free!"
