It's May, It's Sunny, It's Spring

No, I didn't just wake up, although I do feel as if I am waking up from a fog.

My father-in-law passed away on April 11. We were up at the Soldiers Home with him for a week. Then a quiet Easter. Why does that seem like it was weeks away . . . ?

But here are a couple of new things I have posted. They are very loosely woven, airy, and comfortable!

Ahhh. I feel better now that I've blogged. More weaving and gardening today. And playing guitar!

May is Hemp Month

Ok, I have no idea whether it is or not. But I did make some of these for the upcoming Garden Gallery & Gifts show, June 5 & 6, in Broad Brook, CT.

All made of hemp and cotton.
This red one is at Swift Waters.
I also made some guitar string pendants. They are just sitting in my studio, waiting for me to put them on chains and put them in the store.

This one, however, did make it over to Swift Waters. I like the ball ends.
So, I actually have been busy lately with weaving, planting the garden, and playing my guitar. I've learned "Sweet Lorraine" by Patty Griffin, of course, sounding nothing like her and still working on better strumming. But I'm loving it!

Hemp and Henna Blogs

My Hemp and Henna scarf is in Lil Fish Studio's blog. The scarf and I are so happy. Than you, Lil Fish. Check out her beautiful felted items, especially all the little acorns, just right for fall!

This morning Matt and I went to the range. I shot the Henry and got a couple of bulleyes. He bought a Browning .30-06 Medallion yesterday for the big moose hunt. I shot that, too, one, with the last bullet. A beautiful gun!

Good Buys

So, yesterday I purchased these on Etsy:

Mocha Java Exfoliating Soap

Fiji Spa - Neroli, Orange & Orange Blossom Water

The shop is Primitive Earth Soaps Co. Stop by and take a look around. They are working on new items, too!

I just made these:

Hemp scrubbies. They are knitted, two in a pretty butter yellow and two in a color called pearl, but it's like taupe. I know I will take some to the store but I may put some up on Etsy.

Rainy here today but it's good for the garden. Tomorrow I'd like to work in the yard, pruning the rose bushes, edging the beds, repotting some of the seedlings.

New For Spring

It doesn't feel very spring-like here today. Ok, ok, it's not spring yet, but we had some nice weather recently.

Anyway, I am soooo happy to list a new scarf for spring.

I was so excited to finish it. It was on the loom with two others and it just seemed to be on there FOREVER. So I finally cut it off and knotted the fringes while talking to my mom on the phone. Actually, she does most of the talking. I threw it in the washer and dryer and thought I would be ironing it before its photo shoot, but no! It came out all crinkly. It was awesome.

Yes, I am bragging.

I have the two others in a hemp bath and will be rinsing and washing them today. I'm so happy. I feel the flow of creative qi again!
